About the Author
My name is Dalene Kelly. I share my home, in Yuma Arizona, with my husband, Van, an adorable chi-poo and a cocker
spaniel that simply jumped into my car at the mall.
Aside
from beading and ganutell, my hobbies include bird watching, reading, travelling and gardening. I am a member
of the American Orchid Society, Yuma Orchid Society, Arizona
Federation of Garden Clubs, National Garden Club, Inc.,
the African Violet Society of America, Yuma Potpourri Artists and I serve as a Master
Gardener for the U of A Co-op Ext. of Yuma Co..
In the 1960's, my late mother-in-law, Sally Kelly, introduced me to
the art of creating flowers using the French technique. By the mid 1980's I had become an avid beader. Then, in 1997,
I retired from a 20 year career in retail management to make designing "French" beaded patterns my career.
I am blessed to be the authour of several published works;
"French-Beaded Flowers, New Millennium Collection"
2001,
"More French Beaded Flowers",
2004,
(aka "French Beadeded Flowers"
published by David & Charles for European distribution
"Bead
and Wire Flowers", 2004 includes my patterns
"Big
Book of Beautiful Beads", includes my entire first book
and Bead & Button Magazine featured one of my first patterns, the Phalaenopsis
Orchid, on the cover of the Oct. 2001 issue.
In addition,
in the fall of 2001, I was proud to act as co-designer and the project coordinator for the Swarovski Crystal®
beaded flower advertising collection.
I also instigated
and contributed to, the 911 memorial wreath project.
My
heartfelt thanks go out to the many people, around the world, who have helped make my career a success.
Thank You!!!!!!
