The Swarovski Crystal®
Beaded Flower Collection
In 2001, I was commissioned to create beaded flowers, using crystals
by Swarovski of Austria, for an advertising campaign.
Because
a large number of flowers was needed in a very short time, I ultimately enlisted the aid of several other designers, Caren
Cohen, Rosemary Kurtz, Elaine Cobb and, the late Judy Heller.
Using
large beads, to create a beaded flower, often results in a very "chunky" looking object. Although that can be seen
in these pictures, the crystals more than made up for the shortcomings.
Sending
them to Austria, nearly broke my heart!
Unless
you are a professional photographer, you need to apologize for the quality of photos taken of Swarovski Crystals®. The
crystals are so light reflective that they mimic precious gems. The flowers shown, below, are breath-taking, in person, but
lack "fire" when photographed. These flowers are now the property of Swarovski Crystal®, of Austria, but my
patterns are available on my pattern page.
